After some time and talks we will soon be the proud owners of the William “Bill” Nixon Railroad photography and memorabilia collection. We have Jamie Corbacho Appraisals starting the process of appraising the collection. We are looking for donations to offset this cost, and transportation from Seal Beach California back to Pittsburgh. Jamie stated with her preliminary assessment there are 17 large filing cabinets full of slides, and boxes and boxes of memorabilia that need to be back in Pittsburgh and displayed for the world to see. In an interview from the PITT newsletter they interview Bill and he sataed he has between 300000 and 500000 Slides, negatives and photographs. We need to raise at least 43K for the appraisal, moving, and climate controlled storage for two years. I would love to get a small rental property where we can digitize and archive the collection.
